  • Very true. What I noticed most in my service is that communities which accepted a PC volunteer do so under the assumption that funding for local projects would accompany them.

  • I also served (and commented earlier about my experience), but in response to your post specifically I have to whole-heartedly AGREE! Many of the missions are totally insignificant or so completely undefined as to render themselves insignificant.

  • This article just hit me like a ton of bricks. This was the exact same treatment I received and I haven't talked to anyone about it in 13 years. I guess I always just assumed it was my fault for not understanding a new culture and "getting myself into the situation" (as my country director told me).

  • She was with other children playing. She was in her front yard. Adults were watching and told them to run away. He was on video surveillance. There were witnesses who could describe his truck, the same truck he was found in. Her mother immediately jumped in a car and searched the neighborhood.
